GDPR

Conscio Technologies has developed a content to raise employee awareness in terms of protection of personal data. This content is in line with the requirements of the new European GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

This regulation, which covers the protection of natural persons in respect of the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data, came into force on May 25, 2018. It applies to all EU member states and all companies and organizations that handle such data.

Article 39 of the GDPR specifies the tasks of the Data Protection Officer (DPO). These include:

“to monitor compliance with this Regulation, with other Union or Member State data protection provisions (…) including the assignment of responsibilities, awareness-raising and training of staff involved in processing operations (…)”

Furthermore, independently of the regulatory aspects, there seems to be an obvious need to raise individual awareness of the issues associated with the protection of such data,  as disclosure or misuse of such data is likely to infringe individuals’ privacy rights and liberties.

Conscio Technologies’ 2017 GDPR content consists of:

  • An awareness-raising course for all staff
Consisting of videos, sketches and quizzes, this course is intended to raise general awareness of all data protection issues. In addition, its friendly, engaging tone makes it an attractive course to follow, ensuring maximum impact on sensitivity, knowledge and behavior in terms of data protection.
  • Thirteen VideoQuizzes covering different aspects of the regulation. The VideoQuizzes are capsules lasting approximately 5 minutes each consisting of a 2-minute video followed by a 2-3-minute quiz. This is probably the most effective format for an awareness-raising campaign. These VideoQuizzes cover areas such as the main principles of the regulation, the obligations and responsibilities of data controllers, the rights of individuals and the role of the DPO.
